Ingredients :

FRIES:

  • 4 russet potatoes, scrubbed and sliced lengthwise into wedges
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • Sea salt, to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper

CHILI:

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 onion, chopped fine
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (15 ounce) kidney beans, drained
  • 1 can (15 ounce) diced tomatoes, undrained
  • 1 tablespoon tomato paste
  • 1 can (2 ounce) green chilies
  • 1 tablespoon cumin
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

CHEESE SAUCE:

  • 1 ½ cups (360 ml) heavy whipping cream
  • 3 cups (339 grams) shredded sharp cheddar
  • 2 cups (226 grams) shredded pepper jack
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon chili powder

Garnish:

  • Green onion, chopped
  • Jalapeno, sliced

Directions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. Place the potato wedges in a large bowl, cover with water, and set aside for 15 minutes.
  3. Drain and pat dry the potato wedges.
  4. Toss the potatoes with olive oil, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper, and cayenne pepper in a large bowl until evenly coated.
  5. Arrange the potato wedges on a greased baking sheet in a single layer.
  6. Bake for 15 minutes, then flip and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until golden brown and crispy.

CHILI:

  1. In a large skillet, cook ground beef, onion, and garlic over medium heat until browned (about 5-10 minutes). Drain excess fat.
  2. In a large pot, combine the drained beef mixture with kidney beans, diced tomatoes, tomato paste, green chilies, cumin, onion powder, garlic powder, and chili powder.
  3. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low and simmer for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

CHEESE SAUCE:

  1. In a medium saucepan, heat the heavy whipping cream over medium heat until bubbles form around the edges. Reduce heat to low.
  2. Stir in shredded cheddar, pepper jack, salt, onion powder, garlic powder, and chili powder until the cheese is completely melted and smooth.

ASSEMBLY:

  1. Spread a layer of cheese sauce on the bottom of a serving plate.
  2. Pile the baked fries on top of the cheese sauce.
  3. Drizzle more cheese sauce over the fries.
  4. Spoon chili over the fries and cheese sauce.
  5. Drizzle additional cheese sauce over the chili.
  6. Garnish with chopped green onion and sliced jalapenos.
  7. Serve hot and enjoy these indulgent Chili Cheese Fries!
